American Americans are a hardcore rock band from Wilmington NC. Their music brings energy to any stage they are on. The whole band is a collection of not only talented musicians and performancers, but also storytellers. When it came to producing their first music video, they wanted to turn to a production company that understood the importance of storytelling in music videos.

No Ticket
American Americans manager reached out to Patrick Basquil to direct the music video for their song, “No Ticket.” Patrick had many meetings with the band’s frontman to understood where the lyrics came from, and the narrative behind the music. The result was a video that shows all the blood, sweat and tears that go into making music, and how the best musicians leave it all on the stage.
When it came to the production for the video, Patrick worked with cinematographer Alex Hoelscher to bring the visuals for the story to life. To create the look for this video, Wallaby worked with the band’s manager to build a functioning turntable, used vintage lenses and filters, had quite a few hard partying extras and gallons of blood. In post, the color leaned into this vintage look and also added film effects.
